Two staples of Western New England Lacrosse, Catamount Lacrosse, and 1X Lacrosse will be merging and joining forces this coming Fall 2019. 1X Founder, Jeff Stripp will join Catamount as the Berkshire County, MA, Southern Vermont and Rennselaer/Washington County, NY coordinator. Catamount has historically held practices in Essex, VT, and Deerfield, MA while 1X Lacrosse operated out of Williamstown, MA and served lacrosse players in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, and Rennselaer County/Washington, NY.
The merger of the two programs fits nicely with the new Bennington, VT practice site which will be able to serve all markets more effectively and connect the Catamount family from Essex, VT down to Springfield, MA. The launch of a Bennington practice site will allow 5th-12th-grade players in all locations to gather for an increased level of competition within their respective age groups. Evaluations in Bennington, Deerfield, and Essex will all take place on Sunday, September 22nd to form teams for Fall Competition. Practices will continue Sundays through 10/27 and tournament play will begin afterward.
Grades 9 and above will compete in:
- Mid Fall Classic- Amherst, MA – 11/3
- Capital Clash- Albany, NY- 11/10
- Colonial Clash- Lancaster, MA- 11/16
Grades 9 and under will compete in:
- Prime Time Fall Classic- Devens, MA- 10/26
- Connecticut Cup- Cheshire, CT- 11/3
- Falling Leaves Classic- Ballston Spa, NY- 11/10
