Massachusetts Lacrosse Academy put on a clinic Sunday with a dominant display in the 11th Annual Yuletide Classic. Waltzing undefeated through pool play, they claimed the top playoff seed and never looked back. #2 Seed Northampton grabbed wins against the Hell Cats and the Snow Dogs, with a tie to the Ghost Cats to earn a playoff berth. The Goons featuring players from Amherst and the NMH School went 2-1 to take the #3 Seed. The Ghost Cats snuck in with a 1-1-1 showing with the final playoff spot. MLA continued their winning ways in game 1 over a tired Ghost Cats team playing their third consecutive game in a row. The second playoff game looked a bit like the Battle of the Bridge with heavy tones of maroon, navy, and yellow on the field and the Goons came out on top. The first few minutes of the Championship game were competitive with an MLA lead growing from 2-1 to 4-2. A relentless ride opened the floodgates for MLA who cruised to a 16-5 victory. This marks MLA’s third Yuletide Crown in the past five years. 7v7 Tournament play returns to Indoor Action Sports on Sunday February 9th with the Pre-Season Tournament.
